Kids Puzzles Help to Increase Brain Power

Helping kids solve puzzles with Logic:
Age appropriate kids puzzles help children to visualize and manipulate geometric shapes in their mind and provide the basis for solving proportional math problems. It’s important for adults to sit down with kids and offer help with by providing strategy hints instead of giving them the answers.

Kids Wooden Puzzles
Wooden puzzles for very young kids are an exercise in manipulating shapes. Oftentimes they can understand where the piece should go, but need to learn how to turn the shape to make it fit. Instead of telling children which way to turn the piece, offer encouragement and let them know that they’re on the right track and to keep trying. Often, this type of confidence boost is just what kids need to hear to continue to manipulate the piece until it fits.

Kids Jigsaw Puzzles
Children may feel overwhelmed looking at a pile of miscellaneous pieces but with the right strategy, a kid’s jigsaw puzzle can be greatly simplified. Instead of letting kids watch you put the puzzle together, offer them ideas for puzzle solving processes and strategies. Show them first how to turn all of pieces right side up, then to separate the edge pieces and concentrate on building the border. Next they can sort out puzzle pieces by color and build various areas inside of the borders.

Puzzles are an ideal way for children to build fine motor skills and learn how to solve complicated problems. Keep kids puzzles near the toy box so that children learn to equate this kind of thinking with fun.
